Lanrodec
Lanrodec is a common French, located in the department of the Coast-with Armor and the area Brittany.
Its inhabitants is called Lanrodéciens and Lanrodéciennes.
Geography
Lanrodec is located in edge of one four ways (RN 12) between two great centers, Saint-Brieuc and Guingamp, within wooded big spaces (wood of Malaunay - wood of Avaugour - Meur wood).
History
Lanrodec comes from old Breton the lann (hermitage) and from the Breton old man rod (to give). Lanrodec means “hermitage of Rodec”, obscure name of a Breton Saint.One finds Lanrodec name since 1543. Lanrodec is a dismemberment of the old primitive parish of Plouagat, and becomes common in 1790.
Lanrodec depended formerly on évêché on Tréguier, the subdelegation of Guingamp and the spring of Saint-Brieuc. It is set up in parish the 22 Thermidor An XII. By ordinance of March 2nd, 1837, Lanrodec yields the villages of Carpon and Crec' h-Métern, with Saint-Hackney carriage.
The common one was the seat of several episodes of the war of the Chouan S: at the end of April 1796, 150 Chouans remain during two days with Goudemail. They are put in rout in the wood of Malaunay by a mobile column, on April 25th, 1796. Chouans occupy Lanrodec again on January 16th, 1800.

Castle of Perrien (ruins) : chimney 16th century out of granite. The castle of Perrien (15th-16th centuries) was strengthened, surrounded by ditches, and its turns sheltered artillery casemates. The House of Perrien is allied with the Maison of Rohan, and those of Clisson, Chastel, Cambout, etc

''' Castle of Goudemail ''' (18th-18th centuries): the manor belonged in 1600 to Guillaume Colliou. By marriage, it belonged to Jean Juppehault then in Jacques Delpeuch in 1627. In 1744, Delpeuch emigrated with St Brieuc and sold the manor in Hamon de Porville. It becomes the property of Jean Louis de Villeféron in 1840, then of Louis de Lorgeril in 1850. This last rebuilds the castle in 1880. Brick and stones the current building built, comprises a tower on each side. The old castle of the 17th century is partly demolished in 1907. Near the castle remain a home and the commun runs of the old castle, and a large formal garden of more than 5 hectares

Church Notre-Dame (1910-1912): Lanrodec is a dismemberment of the old primitive parish of Plouagat which depended on the Abbaye of Beauport in Paimpol. A first church was high on a monticule leant with the borough, then another building was built in full center in 1855 and 1856. The current church is built on the first site, according to plans of Mr. Faure, architect in Saint-Brieuc. The first stone is posed on July 10th, 1910 and the blessing takes place on February 18th, 1912. It is in the shape of Latin cross in the style of the 15th century, with re-employment of certain elements of the primitive church, like the Western porch and two old statues of Gilles Saint and Saint Eutrope

''' Vault Holy-Marguerite ''', old vault rebuilt at the 18th century. The window of the bedside dates from the 16th century. The bell-tower wall has only one bell chamber. It depended, at the origin, of being appropriate Pellem and belonged to the 19th century for Mr. Villeféron

''' Saint-Méen Vault and Holy-Anne de Seven ''' (16th century). It is about an old private vault which depended formerly on the manor of Kerbol. It was restored at the 18th century. Sold during the Revolution, it is returned to the factory in 1810. The furnace bridge which belonged to the family of Quélen de Plouagat comes from a very old vault located formerly at Plélo and having belonged to the knights of the Ordre of the Temple (Templiers or Hospital). The vault shelters the statues of holy Anne (17th century), Saint Méen (of the 16th century), a Virgin with the Child (of the 15th century). One finds there also the statue of a bishop unknown factor who seems dated from the beginning of the 16th century

''' Castle of Coat-year-Doch ''' or Coëtando (about 1870), property formerly of the Coëtando family (or Coëtandoc' H). Property of William Rufus in 1481. Jean Baptist the Russet-red one of Coëtando, married to Francoise Angelica of Cahideux of the Wood of the Mound and deceased with Trigavou in 1817, is the last representative of this family. Under the Restoration (after 1820), the castle and the grounds pass to Francis Saulnier de Saint-Jouan.

Forest of Avaugour and Bois Meur : during the year 2005, the General advice of Coast-in Armor acquired the forest of Avaugour and wood Meur, a whole of more than: 1000 hectares being spread out over the communes of Lanrodec, Saint-Péver, Saint-Hackney carriage and Boquého. The objectives of the General advice are " to offer to the general public an exemplary forest, as well as regards forestry management as of protection of the environnement". The departmental forest of Avaugour Wood-Meur is opened with the public which can discover its fauna and its typical flora of the country of the Argoat on seven ways marked out (of 1,5 km to 12,5 km) for the hiking, the VTT or the horse. For that, it is preferable to go to the point reception-information located between the two solid mass where the walker will be able to get a chart of the solid mass published by the General advice and to find the starting point of touts the marked out paths.
Personalities related to the commune
Lanrodec is marked by two noble families, that of the Perrien , then that of the Coëtando .The seigniory of Perrien had formerly a right of high justice. The family of Perrien remained in possession of the seigniory until the 18th century.
Marguerite Saulnier de Saint-Jouan (1879-1944), which made gift at the Institute of Salésiens of the castle, the vault and the grounds of Coat-in-Doc' H in order to creating a college there. February 16th, 1936, Mgr Serrand blessed the Institute Midsummer's Day Bosco which currently shelters a college of mainstream education, a college horticoleet a Center " Defense 2 {{E}} chance".
