Languages of Bas-Mamberamo

One calls languages of Bas-Mamberamo two spoken languages in the area of the mouth of the river Mamberamo, in the Kabupaten (department) of Jayapura of the province Indonesia of Papua:

  • the warembori, spoken by 600 people in the villages about Warembori, Tamakuri and Bonoi.
  • the yoke, spoken by 200 people in the east about the river, in the village of Mantarbori.

These two languages are the only representatives of a linguistic family classified in the category of the Langues papoues.
