The language ( language in English) is a element of Métadonnée in the standard Dublin Core or in other descriptions of diagrams XML (XSD).

This element is defined by:

  • cd.: language for a diagram Dublin Core
  • xsd: language in general in a diagram ID defined by xsd: id.

There does not exist official translation of the standard Dublin Core in French. Consequently, the definition given in this article is that provided by INRIA:

“Language (S) of the intellectual contents of the resource. If adapted, the contents of this field should correspond with standard RFC 1766 for the identification of the languages. See: http://ds.internic.net/rfc/rfc1766.txt, for examples with in, of, be, fi, Fr, ja, HT, and zh”

The attribute language (Lang) also intervenes in both principal Langages of beaconing:

  • HTML: attribute Lang
  • XML: attribute xml: lang.
