Common crossings

Langouyrou crosses the communes of Cheylard-l' Évêque, Luc, Saint-Flour-with-Mercoire and Langogne, all located in the department of the Lozere.

Hydrology

The flow of Langouyrou was observed for one 54 years period (1954-2007), with Langogne, locality of the department of the Lozere, located very close to the confluence with the To combine (ref.: ). The catchment area of the river is of 65 km ².

The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Langogne is of 1,51 m ³ a second.

Langouyrou present of the seasonal fluctuations of flow important, with high waters of winter and spring carrying the average flow monthly on a level located between 1,9 and 2,48 m ³ a second, from November to May included (maximum in March and especially April), and of low waters of summer from July to September included, with a fall of the monthly medium flow until 0,335 m ³ in August (335 liters a second), which is acceptable without being severe.

However, the VCN3 can fall until 0,110 m ³, in the event of dry period quinquennial, that is to say 110 liters a second, which becomes severe. The VCN3 is the past minimal quantity or minimal flow over three days consecutive.

In addition the risings can be very important. The QIX 2 and QIX 5 or calculated flows of biennial and quinquennial rising are worth respectively 26 and 44 m ³. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is worth 57 m ³ a second, while the QIX 20 is assembled to 68 m ³. Finally the QIX 50 is worth 84 m ³ a second. (see note). The recorded maximum instantaneous flow was of 112 m ³ a second on November 13rd, 1996, while the value maximum day laborer was of 70 m ³ a second on November 2nd, 1968. By comparing the first of these figures with the values of the various QIX of the river, it appears that this rising was much more than of order cinquantennal and thus very exceptional.

The Lame of water past in the basin of Langouyrou is of 733 millimetres annually, which is poor, very definitely higher than the double of the average overall of France, but also much higher than the whole of the catchment area of the Loire (244 millimetres). The specific Débit (or Qsp) is assembled consequently at 23,2 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
