Langon
Langon is a common French, located in the department of the the Vendée and the area Pays of the Loire.
Geography
Langon is located between Luçon and Fontenay-the-count, in the south the Vendée. This commune is in extreme cases of the marsh poitevin. It has approximately 1000 inhabitants. One should not confuse this commune with the town of " Langon".
History
Langon was a Gallo-Roman city on the northern shore of the Gulf of Pictons. Many buildings were discovered on several tens of hectares as well as an important ceramic, faunistic furniture… This city was on the course of a Roman way going from Jard-on-Sea (the Vendée) to in Rom (Two-Sevres) where it joined the way of Holy in Poitiers. One knows well his layout by the air photographs carried out by Maurice Marsac.
