Langley Air Force Bases

Langley Air Force Bases is a base of USAF located close to the town of Hampton in Virginia ().
The base shelters in 2007 the 1st Fighter Wing equipped with F-15C/D and F-22A, the 480th Intelligence Wing and the general headquarter of the Air Fights Command.

History

It is about the oldest air base of the the United States in activity and one of most important of USAF.

Indeed, NACA and the US Army opened this installation, then called Langley Field, in 1917. In 2005, approximately 8.000 soldiers and 2.800 civilians are employed there.
