Lanfeust of Stars

Lanfeust of the Stars is a Cartoon. The scenario is of Christophe Arleston, the drawings of Didier Tarquin. It is about the second cycle of the adventures of Lanfeust, an apprentice blacksmith of the planet Troy; the first cycle is entitled Lanfeust de Troy.

Summary of the history

In this cycle, one discovers that Troy is in fact a planet belonging to the prince Dheluu, one of the thirteen commercial princes of Meirrion, that one calls “the Thirteen besides”. Thousands of years ago, the commercial princes decided to undertake an experiment on Troy: to gather people with the psychological capacities (what the inhabitants of Troy call magic) around a catalyst (the Magohamoth) in order to develop these capacities. Thanos and Lanfeust is the two only positive tests for the moment, the only ones to have the absolute capacity. Enough quickly, Lanfeust will discover that it is likely to be found in the center of large combat for the universe. The author, who scatters on others band-drawn, does not seem to want to continue at the same rate/rhythm this series.

Characters

In this cycle, one finds certain characters of the first cycle, Lanfeust de Troy like Lanfeust (obviously) or Cixi. The first volume being held partly on Troy, one sees characters like Nicolède but, well quickly, the history concentrates elsewhere and it is thus in space that all the new meetings will be made.

The problem in this type of adventure, it is to fall in the caricature from characters and not into full and whole characters. As much for some, it is what occurred but the caricature is acknowledged and they are generally only minor characters, the main characters being more required.

Hidden messages

Just like in Lanfeust de Troy, you can find small messages hidden. They are for the majority on pieces of paper (attention, it is often necessary to turn over the book). These messages are either of the small jokes, or of the little games as in Lanfeust of stars, where it is necessary to find three friends of Georges Lucas (Java Hut, the admiral and R2-D2; in addition to E.T.)

In addition to these messages, discrete, some are much more indicators and call upon your culture. This phenomenon is very present in this cycle: Swipp and lanfeust speak about extraterrestrial shower which they call E.T shower (iti shower). When the women take their shower naked, Lanfeust known as: " here it is your iti douche" (Tahiti shower, report/ratio with the advertizing where the women douchaient themselves naked). The phatacelces are transformed into Casimir and Marsupilami. The secret agent of volume 4 is called Oho Seth (007). Its detonator resembles a pokéball of Pokémon. On his cigarette pack, one can read " not to smoke does not die jamais" in reference under a film of James Bond: Tomorrow never dies.

There are also many hidden characters, indicated in the hidden messages. In volume 6, one can read: " Where is Bob? " Bob is not other than Bob the sponge, than one finds in the cargo of Zoo 117, in a cage, in company of his friend Patrick… One can also see in volume 4 swipp saying: " Ya of the sun and the chick mirllipiladada! " (in reference to Bronzed).
