Lanfear (the Wheel of Time)

Lanfear is one of the characters of the cycle of Fantasy the Wheel of Time of Robert Jordan. It is one of the thirteen Réprouvé S.

The Era of the Legends

Known during the Era of the Legends under the name of Mierin Eronaile , she is regarded as being of an incomparable to the black and deep eyes, large beauty and with long black hair; more beautiful still than voluptuous the Graendal. She was implied in an love affair with Lews Therin Telamon. This last separated from it when it realized that the only thing which interested Mierin was the capacity. For Mierin, always in love with Lews Therin, it would never have left it if it had not met Ilyena.

Sharom

After its rupture with Lews Therin, it became enquiring in Collam Daan, a university of world famous during the Era of the Legends. Associated with a team of experts, it directed a research project concerning a new source of being able from which men and women could draw indifferently of their sex. It was about the most important search for this Era, the prospects seemed unlimited if this source were discovered. Mierin, thinking finally of having found this source, actually drilled in the prison of Dark locked up since Creation during an experiment in Collam Daan. At this precise moment, the Dark one could touch the Drawing of the Wheel. In a certain manner one can consider that Mierin had reached its original intention - namely to find a source of capacity usable by the men and women - because the Dark one makes it possible its most faithful servants to reach the source it Vrai Capacity , source close to the Single but more dangerous and corrupting Pouvoir. After this major incident, it lent allegiance to Dark and took the name of Lanfear, literally " Girl of Nuit" (to be noted that it is among Réprouvés chooseto have only chosen itself its name as a Élue). Once released from the seal locking up it in the prison of Dark, Lanfear put in search Rand, supposed to be the reincarnation of his/her former lover. It introduced to him under the appearance of Selene a beautiful young woman originating in Cairhien. She on several occasions tried to allure it thanks to her beauty and incited it to seize the capacity and glory, which Rand always refused. She disappears shortly after around Cairhien to reappear later in Great Devastation under the appearance of Keille Shaogi at the side of Asmodean being made pass for a ménestrel of the name of Jasi Natael. After the combat between Rand and Asmodean in Rhuidean, it cuts this last of the Single Pouvoir , leaving him the capacity channel only one very weak flood of saidin , sufficiently so that it can teach in Rand to make use of the Single Pouvoir . She reappears later and tries to kill Rand after it betrayed it (for Lanfear, the fact that Rand fell in love with other women recalls him its rupture of with Lews Therin during the Era of the Legends). Cyndane

Réincarnée by the Dark one, it is now Cyndane , " Last chance" in the Old Language, although this fact was not confirmed directly, its hatred towards Rand as its memories seem to confirm this point, moreover it only acts of dead Réprouvée at this point of the history. Although its capacities seem less important than before its reincarnation, its obstinacy to prevent Rand from being happy with another woman points out the way of behaving of Lanfear. Further in the hisoire certain indices appear as what Cyndane was more powerful before its meeting with Aelfinns and Eelfinns, beings which it could have met after having survived Moiraine when they passed both through the gate. It also mentions its will to help Rand against the Dark one and the Creator, which it had already proposed to him as Lanfear. Cyndane is the opposite physics of Lanfear: small with gray hair and blue eyes. It is currently in the possession of Moridin by the means of a trap of the spirit.
