Laneuvelotte

Laneuvelotte is a common French, located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle and the area Lorraine.

Geography

Laneuvelotte is a commune of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the area of Lorraine. Laneuvelotte is a small village, just located at the exit of the agglomeration nancéienne in direction of Castle-Saline (old N74). Although rural, the village is frankly turned towards the close big city, it is indeed located only at 9 km of the Stanislas place, which makes of it the village nearest to the center of Nancy, from where his attractivity for all the néorurbains.

The communes being next to Laneuvelotte are: Amance, Champenoux, Cerville, Laître-under-Amance, Seichamps, Velaine-under-Amance.

History

The name of Laneuvelotte would come from the name of a former count: the count de Neuflotte who lived then in the old castle in the center of the village (current the Arnould house).

Under the old mode, the Village depandait Duché of Lorraine. Formerly Laneuvelotte was an appendix of Laître-under-Amance but the difficulties of communication caused by the believed distances and the frequent ones from the Amezule justified the creation of an independent cure in 1606.

A particular religious use was observed in this commune and some others of the vicinity: the Easter Day, at three o'clock in the morning, a great number of faithful met in the church, with the sound of the bells, to sing the praises of God there: this ceremony is called Resurrection
