Landry of Paris

Landry († v. 656) Bishop. Celebrated the June 10th.

In 650, it was bishop of Paris where it did not have of cease to help the most stripped. At the time of the famines, it sold all its goods to the liturgical objects to buy a little bread and to redistribute it.

Because the diseases made many deaths and were often transformed into epidemic S, it had the idea to gather all the patients for better looking after them and not contaminating the remainder of the population. Thus the Hôtel-Dieu in Paris was created.

The Paroisse of Saint-Landry in Louisiana is named in its honor.
