He followed Saint Louis in Africa in 1270 with five knights of his continuation.
He was distinguished with the attack from the castle from Carthage. He led the attack, and, in the fray, the ventail of sound Heaume having been broken, he had perished without the help of Imbert de Beaujeu, Connétable of France.
One finds traces of the existence of the marshal until in 1278.
