Lancelot de Brée
Lancelot de Brée , knight of the Order of the king, lord of Fouilloux, Saint-Denis-of-Maine, Montchevrier, Poillé, Tichonnière, Brullon, the Douet-Savage, the Vines and Plessis-Brochard, was governor of Laval, dead the April 23rd 1600 with the Château of Montchevrier to Nuillé-on-Vicoin.
Biography
It succeeded in 1559, in François de Brée, his nephew. What is justified by the rescue that it made of Grillerie the June 27th 1559 in the presence of Guillaume de Quatrebarbes IV, lord of Rongère.By its bad conduct Lancelot de Brée was reduced to the grounds of Fouilloux, Montchevrier and the Vines.
It sold the châtellenie of Brullon and the strongholds of the Douet-Savage of the assent of Catherine de Chauvigné with Jacques Gaultier, rider, lord of Launay-Gaultier, parish of Grez-in-Bouère, whose successors took the name of Brullon; and the châtellenie of Saint-Denis-of-Maine, in Guillaume de Quatrebarbes IV, lord of Rongère, his nephew, in 1565.
It sold with Jean de Froullay, lord of the known as place, his nephew, the ground and seigniory of Poillé for 9000 pounds of the assent of stable-lad. of Chauvigné and Guillaume de Quatrebarbes in 1570, by contract in front of Duchemin, notary. It made its will in front of Jacques the Breton one, notary in the county of Laval, in 1597, naming its executors Jean de Froullay, his nephew, and François de Quatrebarbes, sior of Rongère, his great nephew. By this act it gave 80 books of revenue to the Cordeliers of Laval and 12 pounds also of revenue in Dominican of the aforesaid the city. The ecu of its weapons is noticed in their church with the row of those of the other knights of its time.

This will it added a Codicile last in front of the Draper, notary in Laval, July 18th 1598, by which it confirmed what it had made above and made certain gifts with Pierre de Quatrebarbes, lord of Rongère, with Lancelot and Guillaume, his brothers, and in Marie de Froullay, his/her small niece, since woman of Urbain de Montecler, approving the sale contract of Poillé that it had made in Jean de Froullay, that it names his principal heir, although he was the puîné brother of Louis.
It, made its ordinary residence the Château of Montchevrier, for which it had obtained thus that for its subjects and all the parishioners of Nuillé, of the letters of safeguard of the lord of Lavardin, the July 19th 1591, and where it died the April 23rd 1600.
This last lord of the name of Brée died without alliance with his Château of Montchevrier, the year 1600 and was buried in the church of Cordeliers of Laval, under a marble tomb where it is represented with the ecu of his weapons, leaving for heirs to his house:

- Olive de Brée , lady of Volue,
- or for better saying their grandchildren.
