Lan Xang

Mehmet Honeycomb Tüfekçi , is a player of Saz and Turkish Chanteur born on March 1st 1929 in the sub-prefecture of Akdağmadeni of the area of Yozgat in Turkey and dead the September 18th 1993.

Come in the world in a musician family, it takes her first courses of music with his father towards the age of six or seven years. As its Saz is larger than him, it must support of it the case of resonance against the wall to be able to play about it.

As there is no college in its sub-prefecture, it continues its schooling with Ankara where he becomes acquainted with Muzaffer Sarısözen.

While continuing its studies, it takes part as singer and player of saz in the emission Yurttan sesler (Voice of the fatherland) in the radio of Ankara starting from 1947 where it makes discover a new style of play (tavır) , the style sürmeli characterized by a combination of Trille and very fast Trémolo on the long notes.

It makes a success of the entrance examination of the radio of Ankara in 1953 to accompany the chorus. In 1959 it is named with the radio of Istanbul, and climbs the levels to become director of the music of Turkish national radio-television, TRT in 1974, station of which it resigns in 1976.

The same year it takes part in the creation of the Academy of state of Turkish music of Istanbul (Istanbul Türk Musikisi Devlet Konservatuvarı) , and teaches there the Bağlama and various matters in connection with the Turkish popular music.

During its career it will have taken part in many radio programs and of television as a producer or leader, and will have given many conferences. It gives concert-conferences on the Turkish popular music in 1974 in Yugoslavia and 1976 to Japan. In 1991 it receives the title of Artist of State of the Turkish government.

Following the example Bartók or of a Kodály, Nida Tüfeçi will have also transcribed more than thousand popular melodies (Türkü) .
