Lambil

Lambil , of its true name Willy Lambillote , is a scenario writer and Belgian draftsman of Cartoon born with Tamines (Belgium) the May 14th 1936. It currently resides in the village of Falisolle.

After its studies with the Academy of the Art schools of Brussels, Lambil enters to the editions Dupuis as lettror at the 16 years age.

In 1959, it creates the series Sandy and Hoppy, the adventures of a young boy and his kangaroo, published in the Newspaper of Spirou.

In parallel, it draws some “Uncle Paul”.

In 1972, after the death of the draftsman Louis Salvérius (Salvérius), It successfully takes again “the blue Tunics”, a series launched in 1968 by this one and the young scenario writer Raoul Cauvin. It is thus in load of the graphic destiny of the two truculent heroes, Blutch and Chesterfield, overlapping in a medium of which he is unaware of almost all!

That does not hold: Lambil will document and show an extreme tenacity to succeed the challenge suggested. Death in the heart, it will be soon obliged to give up Sandy in front of success crescent of its new series.

Within the framework of the heading “Freehand” of Spirou, Lambil and Cauvin create in 1973 an autobiographical parodic character: " Poor Lampil " , which depicts the daily life of a draftsman of cartoon.

" With the passing of years, entrusts Lambil, it became a kind of collection of howlers of all them misfortunes which arrive to the authors from Dupuis."
