Lambaréné
Lambaréné is a city of the Gabon. Its name comes from the dialect of the Galoa and means We want to test it, test .
Lambaréné is the sixth plus big city of Gabon with approximately 9.000 inhabitants, behind Libreville, Port-Gentil and Franceville (called Masuku in local dialect), Oyem and Mouila. Lambaréné is located at 250 km of road in the south-east of Libreville, on banks of the Ogooué. Located in the southern hemisphere, it is the provincial chief town and the administrative, economic and medical center of the province of the Means-Ogooué.
The lakes Zilé (7 kilometers length on 2 broad), Déguiélé, Azingo, Onangué, Evaro or Gum, at the border of the reserve of Wongua-Wongué are tourist sites. Fauna there is very varied and the flora remained there in a wild state.
Lambaréné is especially known for its dispensary created by famous Doctor Albert Schweitzer.
