Biography
The bases of Lamb off God were thrown in 1990 whereas Mark Morton, Chris Adler and John Campbell lived on the same floor of the university Virginia the Commonwealth. After having graduated, Mark Morton moved in Chicago to continue its control, but the group carried on its road. A new guitarist, Abe Spear, joined the group. Randy Blythe was added to the voice when the group left its instrumental sonority. At this point of their career, the group was known under the name of Burn the Priest. Morton returned within the group which launched an album éponyme little time afterwards. Abe then left the group to leave room to the brother of Chris Adler, Willie Adler. The style of the group is generally regarded as theProgressive one with a sound slightly inspired of the thrash metal. The rates/rhythms are fast and rather techniques and are dissociated thanks to fronts with the choked notes and structured parts in an original way. The topics approached by the group cover subjects the such policy ( Vigil ), the American history ( In Defense off Our Good Name ), the war ( Ashes off the Wake , Now You' ve Got Something to Die For ), the religion ( Ruin ), capitalism ( As the Palaces Burn ), the abuse substances ( 11th Hour , Pariah ), treason ( Omerta , Break You ), and several other subjects.
" We play a music which overlaps the line between the traditional rock'n'roll and progressif" , explains Campbell. " I believe that we made the prog-rock'n'roll more accessible without deteriorating his savor progressive". The complexity of our music challenges those which like the technical music, but arrangements are not thorough at the point to pass over the head of the average listener. It is a good compromis."
