Lake of the Two Mountains

The lake of the Two Mountains is a stretch of water of approximately 150 km ² located at the North-West of the island of Montreal, with the Quebec, corresponding roughly to space between the stopping of Carillon and that of Grand Mill. It runs out towards the Rivière of the Thousand-Islands, the Rivière of the Meadows and the Rivière of Outaouais or in direction of the Lac Saint-Louis to reach the the St. Lawrence.
Named Lake Médicis in 1612 by Champlain then Lake Soissons towards 1632, it will end up bearing its current name about the year 1684.

The lock of Holy-Anne, 60 meters length located at Holy-Anne-of-Bellevue, date of 1882. It makes it possible to cross the difference in level of 1 meter between the Lake of the Two-Mountains and the Lake Saint-Louis.
The season of navigation on the Lake of the Two-Mountains extends from mid-May until mid-October, coinciding with the dates of opening and closing of the locks of Holy-Anne-to-Bellevue and of Chime.
