Lake of the Four Cantons
The Lake of the Four Cantons (in German Vierwaldstättersee , Italian Lago dei Quattro Cantoni / Lago di Lucerna , romanche Lag Lucerna and English Lake Lucerne ) is a lake of the fjord type of central Suisse. It makes 38 km length of the mouth to the outfall of the Reuss. It is located at a level 434 meters with the top of the sea, makes 114 km ², and reached depth a 214 meters.
Its name comes from the meeting of the cantons of Uri, of Schwytz, Nidwald and Lucerne.
