Lake of Saint-Point

The lake of Saint-Point , also known under the name of lake of Malbuisson , is the third natural lake of France by its surface. It is located in the department of the Doubs, within the Massif of the Jura, with about fifteen kilometers of the town of Pontarlier.

Geographical presentation

Third natural lake of France after the Le Bourget and the Lake Annecy), except the French part of the Lake Léman. It is vastest of the natural lakes of the French Jura.

History

1994: Arrival of the 20th stage of the turn of France coming from Morzine and victory of Djamolidin Abdoujaparov in front of Jan Svorada and Silvio Martinello.

Activities

  • In summer: bathe, veil, fishing and pedestrian path all-around the lake.
  • In winter: When it freezes completely it becomes a beautiful natural skating rink.
