Lake of Barbat
The lake of Barbat is a Lac of Montagne of high-altitude (1973 Mètre S). It is located in the department of the Hautes-Pyrénées.
Enclosed in the Massive of Barbat, the lake took the name of it. It is encircled by peaks of high-altitudes with the Soum de Grum (2657 m), the Large Barbat (2813 m), the Peak of Badescure (2769 m), the Peak Maleshores (2692 m), the peak of Lutussou (2394 m) and the Soum de Lutussou (2172 m).
The lake can be drained in summer. It is on the route of the Sentier of great excursion GR. 10. There is just a small variation to make to go to admire it.
The lake is accessible either by the Lac from Estaing, or since Cauterets while passing by the Col of Ilhéou.
