Lake Verde

The Lago Verde or Lac Verde is small a Lac located in the province Argentine of Chubut, in Patagonie. It is located within the National park Los Alerces.

It owes its name with the color of a major green, enough surprising its water.

It belongs to the system of the Lac Futalaufquen and the Río Futaleufú which it contributes to feed from its water, in the sense that its emissary, Río Arrayanes is the most important affluent of the Lac Futalaufquen. The lake Verde receives two large tributaries upstream:

  • Río Rivadavia which brings to him water of the Lac Rivadavia and this fact water of the Río Carrileufú, emissary of the Lac Cholila located even upstream.
  • Río Menéndez, with powerful, emissary flow of the Lake Menéndez.

The emissary of the lake Verde is Río Arrayanes which pours its water in the Lac Futalaufquen near. The final emissary of this series of lakes is the Río Futaleufú.
