Lake Sobradinho

The Lake Sobradinho () is located in the State of Bahia, of the Nordeste Brésilien. The lake is approximately 320 km length, a surface of 4.214 km ² and a storage capacity of 34,1 kilometers cubic. It stores the water of the Rio São Francisco, one of the most important rivers and most abundant of the country.

Situation

It owes its name with the locality of Sobradinho on the territory of which the stopping was built. The approximate coordinates of the lake are 9°30' of southern latitude, and 40°50' of western longitude.

• the extent of its catchment area is that of the Rio São Francisco on the level of the stopping is 498.425 km ².
• the flow of the river is approximately 3.090 cubic meters a second at the exit of the stopping-lake.
