Lake Manyara
The lake Manyara is a Lac north of the Tanzania, located at approximately hundred kilometers in the west of Arusha, in the Vallée of the great rift, in the south-east of the Massif of Ngorongoro. It draws its name from the term Masaï will emanyara indicating a species of Euphorbe, Euphorbia tirucalli .
According to Ernest Hemingway, Manyara was the most beautiful lake of Africa. Of size however limited (average surface of 230 km), the lake is surrounded by landscapes variés : Savanna raised to the east, dry Forest in south-west and dense Tropical forest in the North-West.
The great majority of the lake, with the important biodiversity, is protected within the framework from the National park from the lake Manyara which includes/understands also its Western bank.
