Lake Lispach

The Lake Lispach is located in the department of the the Vosges, on the commune of the Bresse.

Geography

The lake occupies a glacial basin of altitude crossed by a right affluent of the Moselotte, Chajoux. Most of its influence is occupied by a Tourbière, dry on the side upstream and wet, even submerged towards the downstream.

History

Xavier Thiriat, Vosgean naturalist, wrote in 1882: “ the lake covered with a thick layer of paludous vegetation, like the Lake Blanchemer, will end up being transformed into peat bog. ” The human activity of the 20th century was going to reverse this assertion.
  • 1914: The first water reserve for the benefit of weavings and the sawmills of the valley of Chajoux.
  • 1943: Improvement of the stopping.
  • 1948: Erection of a stopping downstream, with the locality Ténine, to double the capacity.
  • 1961: Startup of the current dam Lispach.
  • 1970: Establishment of an annual convention enters the commune and the industrialists.
  • 1990: Stop of the use of water of the lake at industrial ends. The level of the lake is then stabilized.
