Lake Guerlédan

artificial Lake located at horse on the commune of Holy Aignan in the Morbihan and the commune of Ripe-of-Brittany in the Coast-with Armor. Its formation is due to the construction of the Barrage of Guerlédan in 1930 on the river of the Blavet. It materializes, partly, the limit between Morbihan and the Coasts of Armor.

Of a superfice of 400ha, length of 12km and major of 50m to the foot of the stopping, the Lake Guerlédan is more the artificial big lake of Brittany.

The creation of this lake and especially that of the stopping with half-compartment the continuity of the river traffic on the Channel from Nantes to Brest which borrows, at this place, the course of Blavet.

Its name comes from Breton vannetais: Gouer ledan, is: the broad ruisselet
