Lake Disappointment
The Lake Disappointment (in English: the Lake Disappointment () is a salt water lake of 1500 km ², located at the western end of the Désert of Gibson, in Western Australia.
It forms the lowest part of the Petit Desert of Sand and is fed by the river Savory Creek at its northern end but its flow is not sufficient to maintain the water level there It owes its name with the explorer Frank Hann who, in 1897, explored is Pilbara and found rivers running towards the interior of the grounds and followed them while hoping to find a stretch of water. It was désappointé to find only one lake… salt water.
