Lake Chungará

Lago Chungará and its volcano the Parinacota are both located on the Andes cordillera, at the border with the Bolivia in the Región de Tarapacá with the Chile. The lake is on the Chilean atiplano, to 4500 m of altitude. It is possible to see pink flamingos which in spite of the night cold live there at first sight without problem.

Since Arica, excursions are organized, generally over two days, making it possible to sleep in mountain.

The lake and the sector which surrounds it belong to the National park Lauca .
