Lake Callabonna
The lake Callabonna is a lake desiccated of southernmost Australia.
In January 1892, Fred Ragless, a stockbreeder of sheep of the area, noticed that a great number of skeletons of large animals were inserted in salted surface. A forwarding organized by Sir Thomas Elder and E.C. Stirling, director of the " South Australian Museum" went on the spot. After several voyages; , they brought back a great number of skeletons of Diprotodon S and Dromornithidae. The zone was classified reserve of fossils in 1901 and its access is limited by it.
