Lake Bairon
Bairon is today a Lac located in the department of the the Ardennes. It is fed by water of the brook of the Meadows, which takes its source with Horgne. Its surface is of 120 hectares.
One distinguishes an old pond, which are also a Natural reserve, on the commune of Sauville and a new artificial pond, at the edge of which one finds a camp-site and a base of nautical leisures, on the commune of the Chesne. The two ponds are separated by a dam.
The artificial lake, which dates from the years 1830-1840, is a water reserve which is used to feed the Canal of the Ardennes. It recovers the old village of Bairon-Mount-God whose territory was divided between the communes of Sauville, Chesne and Louvergny when it was absorbed. The firm-vault of Saint-Brice, on a height, that is all remains old village.
