Lake Atitlán

The lake Atitlán is located at the south-west of the Guatemala, at a few hours of the capital Guatemala.

Regarded as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, it is bordered by three volcanos (volcano San Pedro, Tolimán and Atitlán which culminates to 3.537 m) and of innumerable mountains. Although it is very polluted consequently direct of the human activity of the bordering villages, it remains possible to bathe there in north and certain places in the south. Many tourist boats make the turn of the lake, with three stopovers in the villages which surround it.
