Laila Freivalds
Laila Freivalds (born the June 22nd 1942 with Rīga in Latvia), is a political woman Swedish, of Latvian origin. Minister for the Justice of 1988 with 1991 and of 1994 with 2000. Foreign Minister of the September 11th 2003 with the March 21st 2006.
It was born during the Second world war and its family took refuge in Sweden.
She is graduate with the Université of Uppsala (in right) in 1970 and worked for Swedish Justice as from 1976. After the assassination of Anna Lindh, in 2003, it was appointed Foreign Minister.
She is member of the social democrat Parti Swedish work.
She belongs to the Signataires of the Constitution for Europe.
The March 21st 2006, it resigns because of suspicions according to which it would have enfreint the Constitution during the closing of an Internet site of extreme-right-hand side having reproduced caricatures of the Mahomet prophet.
