Laic preacher

In the Churches methodists, the pastors are generally in load of a large territory, exerting, more than in the Churches Protesting are “historical” a ministry of the episcopal type. The usual load of the Prédication in the local Church is then that of the Prédicateur S placed under their responsibility.

This practice to have other preachers whom the pastors extended to other Churches.

In France, the old Church methodist was almost entirely integrated into the reformed Church in 1938. The laic preachers are numerous today in this Church. They are thus Laïc S, voluntary, not having the heavy theological formation (vat + 5) of the pastors. Some exert this ministry very occasionally, when they are charged by the council presbytéral with chairing a worship. Others much more often exert it, sometimes even with a pastoral delegation .

That is always done under the control and the responsibility of the ecclesiastical council concerned. Nobody can decide itself, or by refusing any formation, to preach or chair a Sacrement. The call and the recognition by the Church (or its Council) are essential components of any ministry.
