Lagoa de Sombrio

The lagoa of Sombrio (“Lake French Sombrio”) is a stretch of water located at the south of the State Brésil IEN of Santa Catarina, in withdrawal of the Littoral of the Atlantic Ocean.

Situation

It is skirted by BR-101 and 5 municipalities divide its banks (Sombrio, Balneário Gaivota, Santa Rosa C Sul, São João C Sul and Passo de Torres).

Characteristics

Its depth varies around 3 Mr. His perimeter measures 30 km for a surface of 54 km ². It measures approximately 16 km length for 5 km of width. It is about the more big lake of the State. It flows in the Rio Mampituba.

Very full of fish, its banks shelter forests comprising a large variety of Orchidée S. Aujourd'hui very polluted, its fauna and its flora is in way disappearance.
