Lagoa da Conceição

The lagoa da Conceição is a stretch of water located at the east of the island of Santa Catarina, in the State Brésil IEN of Santa Catarina. It is between a mountainous relief and a band Sable uses which separates it from the Atlantic Ocean.
General information
The Lac is most important of the island in surface. It covers approximately 19,7 km ² and is divided into two parts: the lagoa of Dentro in south-west and the lagoa of Drilled in the North-East. The two parts are separated by a strait on which a bridge is built which connects the banks east and west of the lake.
Geography
In the extreme north, the lagoa da Conceição is fed by Rio das Capivaras. On its north-western bank, where the hills dominate, are many small beaches separated by rock units. Many a River goes down from the hills to throw itself in the lake. More in the south, with the locality Canto back Araçás , one finds a point sandy, the Ponta das Almas , sheltering a Sambaqui. While going down towards the south, the plain separating the hills from the lake widens. The bridge which separates the lagoa from Drilled lagoa of Dentro is built there. In the extreme south, one finds hills again. In the east, while going up towards north, from the Dune S of sands separate the lagoa from Dentro of the ocean, while other mountainous reliefs separate the lagoa from Drilled ocean. These reliefs are separate in two solid masses, between which a depression in the past connected to the sea is. One finds then the channel which connects today the lake to the sea, through the Barra da Lagoa . Lastly, a Restinga which separates the lake from the sea in the extreme north.
