Lage Mierde

Lage Mierde is a village of 1738 inhabitants (2006) in the commune of Reusel-In Mierden, in the province of the Brabant-Septentrional to the Netherlands.

Geography

The village of Lage Mierde forms the northern part of the commune. The hamlet Vloeieind , protected district, preserves many old farms at the thatched roofs. Lage Mierde is along N269 Reusel - Tilburg.

Lage Mierde is bathed by the Reusel in the west and by the Raamloop in the east.

History

For a long time, Hooge Mierde and Lage Mierde formed only one seigniory ( heerlijkheid ). Hooge Mierde constituted the field of the lord of it, while Lage Mierde was inhabited by the free farmers.
