Ladislas Ier of Naples
Ladislas of Anjou-Durazzo , born in 1376, dead the August 6th 1414, king de Naples of 1386 with 1414 and king de Hongrie of 1403 with 1403, wire of Charles III of Anjou-Durazzo, king de Naples and of Hungary, and Marguerite of Anjou-Durazzo.
Biography
Sometimes called Lancelot, following the French deformation of Hungarian Laszlo (Ladislas).
It was ten years old when his/her father was assassinated and his mother, of Naples, took refuge with Gaète. Ladislas grows in the middle of the Italian factions then in full war. It had its baptism of fire in 1392 when Louis II of Anjou, which claimed with the throne of Naples, attacked it in its states. Louis of Anjou started by gaining successes, but Ladislas took again the advantage and forced Louis of Anjou to pass by again in France (1399).
Noble Hungarian, tired of violences of their king Sigismond of Luxembourg, revolted, imprisoned it and gave the throne to Ladislas which was crowned with Zara, but Sigismond escaped, took again the crown. Ladislas, occupied by other projects, ignored Hungary.
Indeed, the Great Schism of Occident involved anarchy in Rome, and it planned to attach the Papal States to its kingdom. Called by Colonna, it was presented to Rome to ask the seigniory of it, but the Roman people drove out them, him and his escort. He returned with an army of twelve thousand men and conquered Rome and his area, then he attacked Florence, wanting to constitute a kingdom of Italy. But Florence, by higher bid, bought part of its mercenaries and obtained the contest of Louis II of Anjou. Ladislas was beaten in Rocca-Secca, but Louis of Anjou could not exploit his successes. Ladislas after some time of peace, took again the war against Rome, took the city and planned to attack Florence when it fell sick and died.
Marriages and children
It did not have any children of its three marriages:- # in 1390 with Constancy, girl of Manfred de Clermont, count of Motica. It will separate in 1392 from it.
