Ladislas II Jagellon

Ladislas II Jagellon ( Ladislas II of Poland , or Władysław II Jagiełło , or Jogaila born Jogaila Algirdaitis (1351 - 1434 Gródek Jagielloński) was Large-duke of the Lithuania of 1377, and became king de Pologne in 1386 after being converted with the Christianisme and having changed its name of Jogaila into Władysław Jagiełło and by its marriage with Hedwige of Anjou. He is founding member of the Ordre of the Dragon.

Biography

Jogaila was Dynastie Gediminas of the large dukes of the Lithuania. His/her father was Algirdas (or Olgierd, which reigned of 1345 with 1377), duke of Lithuania and wire of Gediminas, and his/her brother was Švitrigaila. He was born has Vilnius in Lithuania. With the Union of Krewo in 1385, it establishes the dynasty Jagellon which would reign in Poland and Lithuania until in 1572.

At the same time, Jogaila converts with the Catholicisme and was baptized under the name of Ladislas (Polish Władysław ), just as the other noble Lithuanians. He became king de Pologne by his marriage with the queen Hedwige of Anjou and was crowned king de Pologne. After the death of their daughter and born new heiress and of the princess in 1399, Polish asked him to preserve the throne.

In 1410, one as of the greatest battles of medieval Europe took place with Grunwald. Władysław II Jagiełło left there victorious.
