Lacrimosa
Lacrimosa is the name of a musical project germano-Switzerland, carried out since 1990 by Tilo Wolf, to which Anne Nurmi joined, ex-singer of the " Two Witches" , in 1995. It was affiliated with the current of the Darkwave, before being directed since " Satura" towards a style plus metal and orchestral. Today, Lacrimosa plays a symphonic Gothic metal of high flight, where the most sumptuous orchestrations, very present in particular in the album " Elodia" and " Lichtgestalt" , recorded with the Symphony orchestra of London, supported by a section metal, accompanies the single voice by Tilo Wolf.
Tilo Wolf is the thinking heart and the key of the group. Indeed, it composes all the music of Lacrimosa (except for some songs, often in English, due to Anne Nurmi), and is announced in particular by a completely recognizable style of composition of the orchestral parts of its music. The group is currently based in Switzerland, but is originating in Frankfurt, in Germany, birthplace of Tilo Wolf.
The esthetics of the group evolved/moved the music parallel to, on the basis of a look rather " batcave" to arrive at a neo-romantic esthetics, taking as a starting point the 17th century, thus presenting a softer and required image.
To note that Tilo Wolf decided to parallel to carry out another project Lacrimosa, named Snakeskin.
The word " Lacrimosa" comes from Latin " Lacrima, ae" = the tear. He means: in tears, or carrying tears. It is also a section of the requiem, the mass for the dead of the liturgy roman catholic. In its famous Requiem, Lacrimosa is the last part that Mozart composed, and it left it unfinished. Mozart is also the type-setter who influenced Tilo in his career the most.
