Lacourt-Saint-Pierre

Lacourt-Saint-Pierre is a common French, located in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne and the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

Its inhabitants is called Lacourtois.

Geography

Lacourt Saint Pierre is a village of the south-west, located at the south of Montauban, it is crossed by the channel which connects the Tarn to the Canal of the South.

History

Small Seigniory with the hands of the family of Saint-Etienne (Capitoul S of Toulouse), this ground is bought by Jean de Viçose, lieutenant of the Sénéchal of Montauban at the end of the 16th century. Its nephews Benjamin, then Guy de Viçose carry the title of baron of Lacourt and count among the big families of Montauban. He emigrate in England shortly after the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes.
