Labuan
Labuan (or Pulau Labuan in Malayan ( island of Le Havre )) (written in Jawi: لابوان) is a federal territory of the Malaysia, formerly part of the Sabah. This territory is composed of a large island (75 km ²) and of six small islands to broad of the Sabah and sultanate of Brunei.

History
The island belonged to the sultanate of Brunei. In 1840, the British use the island, hitherto uninhabited, as bases operations against piracy and later as a base for the cable between Singapore and HongKong. The sultan of Brunei yields Labuan to Great Britain in 1846. The island becomes a colony of the Crown in 1848. It becomes part of Borneo of North at January 1st, 1890, then on October 30th, 1906, the Possessions of the Straits. The first white rajah of Sarawak, James Brooke was named commander-in-chief and governor of this new territory.
In 1984, Labuan joined the federation of Malaysia. In 1990, the island became frank. This statute is intended to develop the financial activities to with it.
