Labrador City
Labrador City is a small town located at the west of the Labrador (which belongs to the Canadian province of Ground-New-and-Labrador) close to the Québécois border . Its population in 2001 reached approximately the 8000 inhabitants. The close city is Wabush, a smaller city with 2000 inhabitants; these two “ jumelles  cities; ” are make call Labrador-West collectively. Wabush has the only airport of the west of Labrador, and is served by three commercial air lines: Air Canada Jazz, Air Labrador and Provincial Airlines.
Labrador City was founded in the Années 1960 to place the employees of the mining company Iron Ore of Canada. The mine always constitutes the principal industry of the city.
In date of April 2005, the mayor of Labrador City is Graham Letto. Letto was the candidate of the Conservative party of Canada in the by-election of the May 24th for the federal district of Labrador. The seat was gained by the liberal candidate Todd Russell.
The currency of Labrador City is Kamistaitusset , a word nascopi meaning “ ground of travaillants  people; ”.
