Laboratory of general catastrophe

The Théâtre of the operations II subtitle Laboratoire of general catastrophe is the second volume, published in 2001, of the metaphysical Journal and polemic of the French writer Maurice G. Dantec. It precedes American black box (to be appeared in 2006) and made following the first volume by the TdO: Manual of survival in territory zero published in 2000.

It is in this work that the reader attends the conversion of the author to the catholic faith at the dawn of the year 2000. As the subtitle of the work lets it suppose, the matter of the author is readily polemical. In this volume, Maurice G. Dantec fustigates, often in virulent manner, " the ideology social-démocrate" and " the apathie" Europe vis-a-vis the Yugoslav crisis. In the same direction, he criticizes the seizure of some " ONUcratie planétaire" (according to its terms) whose intrigues concourreraient with the " destruction of Occident" , always according to the author.

One thus distinguishes in this work the first steps from the standpoint from the author in favor of the American intervention in Iraq, of the policy of the US president George W. Bush, his Sionisme and his future opposition to the European Constitutional treaty.

On the literary level, the author endeavors to make known the work of writer of the 20th century like Pierre Drieu La Rochelle by presenting a few selected pieces. In the same direction, Dantec presents to the reader a lighting topicality starting from the writings of the essay writer Alexis de Tocqueville of which he admires the capacities visionaries .

Dantec also presents in this work like a partisan of the liberal capitalism , conceived like the only social organization able to take along humanity towards its " destin". In the spirit of the author, capitalism is closely related to " the Empire américain" , it supports the development counteracts about it the policies (or not-policies according to the author) carried out by UNO and the Europe (baptized Zéropaland). Dantec thus intends to fight the " nihilisme" " the last hommes" by the Catholic faith . In this spirit, Dantec please initiate the creation of a large library secret and clandestine in which the philosopher's stones of the literature would be preserved during the period of great upheaval that he sees arrived. It entitled this project Liber Mundi .

The standpoint policy of Dantec often doubles criticism of the state of the literature at the end of the 20th century. Thus, one can read under his feather the praise of certain contemporary authors like Jeremy Nerby, or Michel Houellebecq. These praises contrast with the very polemical tone on which he answers the attacks which were addressed to him at the time of the exit of the first volume of the theater of the operations .

In this work, like the precedent, Dantec épanche little on its private life. It is learned nevertheless that it chooses to spend only the night of the passage to the year 2000. However, Dantec also confesses to have had some health issues (depression and overwork) because of the intensive work of writing to which it is compelled, mainly the night. Lastly, to finish, the author is presented itself in the form of an assiduous consumer of Cannabis. But, contrary to the assertions of some critical, Dantec the use of aucunes others Drogue S in this work does not confess.

This second volume delighted some by these admirors, finding in the person of Maurice G. Dantec a new voice which the Littérature needed. Contrary, certain amateurs of the novels of Dantec were disappointed of this very preserving standpoint, going until joining the camp of the " anti-Dantec".
