Labial reading
The labial reading is the action to identify the its S pronounced by the individuals in a visual way. Indeed, to pronounce a its precis, the Bouche must have a particular form (opening of the mouth, position of the Langue, source of the sound, etc). The vowels are directly identifiable on the lips. The identification of the consonants is more complex (position of the language, emission of the breath).
The people Sourd be or deaf call upon this method to include/understand what is known as. But the labial reading, it only does not allow all to include/understand: it is estimated that only 30% of the transmitted oral message are perceived by this skew. That depends on the pronunciation of the interlocutor, but also of his labial aspect (stops lippue, strong beard, facial paralysis, etc). And also of the position of the speaker (to speak by always showing its face, not with against day, not in a noisy environment, etc). Rules for communicating well exist.
The labial reading is not a " play of devinette" : " to see on the lèvres" is a method which is learned and which calls upon mental substitution (vocabulary).
The difficulty comes from the labial doubles (words which decide in the same way (glass, towards, green): it is important to specify with the " lecteur" about which subject one speaks.
For the children, it is often associated with the LPC Supplemented Spoken French language. The LPC is a manual coding of the sounds of the French language (eight manual forms and their five sites close to the face). The LPC offers to the child a complete perception and without ambiguity of oral French.
When the people know the signs of the language of the signs, the speakers supplement their articulation with the signs of the marked words: it is signed French.
Other deaf people reject the oral communication and call more upon the Langue of the signs, for various reasons: because the oral communication requires too many efforts of them, but also by personal choice.
