History
LaMoure was founded in 1882. It is the seat of the county since 1886. Until this date, Grand Rapids sheltered the seat.
To note
Until 1997, LaMoure sheltered one of the eight stations of the Navigation system Omega. The station ceased emitting when GPS supplanted Oméga.
