In the Greek Mythology, Laërte is the son of Arcésios and Chalcoméduse. King d' Ithaque, it has as children Ulysses and Ctimène with his wife Anticlée, girl of the robber Autolycos. Animated thanks to Athéna of a “new strength”, it helps his son to push back the attack of the parents of the massacred applicants. It is for Laërte that Pénélope wove and unwove a funerary veil whereas it awaited hopelessly the return of Ulysses.
