Laà , which was called Lar until XIIe century, division its name with the local brook, the Laà, affluent of the Gave of Pau.
Mondrans is plural lous Mondrans (1659) of Mondran (French /m õdrã/, Gascon /mundran/) probably of Mount Hranc “mount frank” ( Mondran Susoo and Mondran Jusoo in 1385; Mondran above and Mondran debaigt in 1614).
