LZ77 and LZ78

LZ77 and LZ78 is two algorithms of compression without loss of data published by Abraham Lempel and Jacob Ziv in 1977 and 1978. These two algorithms form the base of the majority of algorithms LZ like LZW and LZSS.

The algorithm LZ77 is used for the compression of the files in the Filing system Windows NTFS ().
