LTC Prague

LTC Prague ( Cs Lawn Tennis Club Praha ) was a club of Hockey of Prague in Czechoslovakia which existed of 1903 with 1964.

History

Seasons of domination

The club is created in 1903 under the name of LTC Praha and is joined at the time of its first season the Czechoslovakian championship Élite in 1936-37. At the conclusion of this first season, the LTC gains its first championship with Josef Maleček and Oldřich Kučera, better strikers of the short season (7 matches per team). The team on the whole will gain 10 championships like 7 Coupes Spengler, missing only the title by 1941 with the profit of the 1. CLTK Prague. In 1949, the team changes name and takes that of Zdar LTC Praha .

Decline

1950 should be waited until to see the team being made reverse in her domination by another team of the capital, ATK Prague. Following this season, the team is also dismantled for political reasons: the team of Czechoslovakia to the championship of the world 1950 was to go but the authorities preferred to cancel the participation of their players of fear of attending many defections. The players of the LTC being dissatisfied with this decision are then stopped. The true reason would have been the exile of the old Maleček high-speed motorboat of Czechoslovakia and its desire to assemble another national team. The club is then famous Tatra Smícho .

In 1954-55, the club finishes in the last place of the championship and is relegated in lower division, the Cs Celostátní refuel . The increase is immediate but two seasons later, the team finishes in the eleventh place, plays of the matches of stopping and is relegated once again. The team will never go up in the first division and puts an end to her activities at the conclusion of the season 1964-65.

The standard team of the LTC Prague is made up of Bohumil Modrý like goalkeepers, Miroslav Pokorný and Josef Trousílek in defense and the trio of attack made up of Stanislav Konopásek and Josef Maleček on the wings associated with Vladimír Zábrodský with the center.
