LSU Tigers is a club general sports university of the Louisiana State University with Baton-Rouge. The teams of Tigers take part in the university competitions organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Louisiana belongs to the division Southeastern Conference where it takes part in 14 disciplines.
American football
The most famous team of Tigers is that of American football. Twice national champion (1958 and 2003), the team evolves/moves with the Tiger Stadium, enclosure of 92.400 places inaugurated the November 25th 1924. Other sources also give LSU champion in 1908, 1935, 1936 and 1962 (see Championnat NCAA of American football).
Marchioness Hill (1982 - 2007), which evolved/moved in the team of the Tigers which gained the university title national in 2003, found death the May 27th 2007, with old 24 years, in an accident of Jet-ski on the Lac Pontchartrain. It evolved/moved at the station of defensive winger in the team of the Patriots of the News England, based with Foxborough in the Massachusetts, close to Boston, since it had left the university in 2004.
Baseball
The team of Baseball which was national champion five times (1991, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 2000) evolves/moves with the Alex Box Stadium, stage of baseball of 7760 places.
Basketball
The team of Basket-ball which disputes its home matches with was national champion in 1935. In addition to this title, LSU made appearances with the Final Furnace in 1953, 1981, 1986 and 2006.
