LPGA

LPGA ( Ladies Professional Golf Association ) is a Circuit of professional Golf female being played pricipalement the United States. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of thirteen players including Mildred Didrickson Zaharias.

The circuit of the LPGA, the LPGA Turn, include/understand four principal tournaments: the Kraft Nabisco Championship, LPGA Championship, the female Open US of golf and the female Open British of golf (in co-operation with the Ladies European Turn).

In addition to the four tournaments of the Large Slam, the tournaments of winner category are most important. They are six: four are played the United States, one in France with Évian-the-Baths and the last with the Canada, on a different course with each edition. The tournaments winner propose a minimum of two million dollars of price and the players who gain these tests are directly qualified for the LPGA Playoofs of end of season.

The tournaments known as Standard constitutes a third level of competitions. Twenty tournaments carry this label in 2007. Sixteen take place in the United States and the two others proceed with the Mexico, in South Korea, Thailand and with the Japan. Some not-official noted tournaments supplement the calendar.
